शिष्य ने गुरु से पूछा, “यदि मैं आपसे यह कहूं कि आपको आज सोने का एक सिक्का पाने या एक सप्ताह बाद एक हज़ार सिक्के पाने के विकल्प में से एक का चुनाव करना है तो आप क्या लेना पसंद करेंगे?”

“मैं तो एक सप्ताह बाद सोने के हज़ार सिक्के लेना चाहूँगा”, गुरु ने कहा.

शिष्य ने आश्चर्य से कहा, “मैं तो यह समझ रहा था कि आप आज सोने का एक सिक्का लेने की बात करेंगे. आपने ही तो हमें हमेशा वर्तमान क्षण में अवस्थित रहने की शिक्षा दी है!”

“तुमने मुझे सोने की दो काल्पनिक मात्राओं में से एक का चयन करने के लिए कहा”, गुरु बोले, “तो इससे क्या फर्क पड़ता है कि मैं किसका चुनाव करता हूँ!?

    सिक्‍के पर लेख ”राम लक्ष्‍मण जानकी जै बोलो हनुमान की” ढालने का प्रयास है, ऐसे सिक्‍कों के दूसरे पहलू पर राम दरबार होता है, खैर कहानी तो बढि़या है, लेकिन मेरा ध्‍यान सिक्‍के पर अधिक रहा.

    yes ,its very true,if you have an option for the thing which will not remains same in future as it is ,so its does not matter that what option you choose for that……….generally tengibles have nature of variability…….intengibles like traits(knowledge,experience,nature,behaviour,thinking ) of people does matter for that which option you choose……today or tommorow,because traits have fixed value of them.
    if you asked for option of today or tommorow,based on knowledge…….than definitely you will opt for the option of “today”,because you believe in today.
